Kees van de Nes (1962),
born in Amsterdam on the Haarlemmerdijk. As a butcher's son he came into frequent contact with cattle and other animals. As a small boy he was allowed to go to the farmer and he went to the cattle market in Purmerend. He thought it was impressive that even then, all those cows and farmers clapping hands, great atmosphere. Later on, Kees refined his techniques at the Wackers Academy in Amsterdam with various courses and master classes. Kees van de Nes draws and paints purely by feeling and from the heart.
